January 8, 2012 Who Are You?

 Sermon Summary: Who Are You?

We all play multiple roles in our lives, and usually more than one at a time.   A few examples that could qualify those roles are employee, spouse, child, parent, student, volunteer, athlete, etc.

Paul showed us a photograph of him fishing.  In the picture, he looks happy.  But that doesn’t say much.  It's our actions that say it all.  He went on to tell us that we Christians are Christians whether in church or outside the church doors.  His beautiful message was an important lesson to all.

Be mindful to continue your charity, kindness, goodness, love, peace, forebearance, kindness, faithfulness and self-control as you carry on your daily life.  These qualities are otherwise known as the Fruits of the Spirit, see Galatians 5:22-23.

January 1, 2012 Sermon Summary

January 1, 2012 No Signs, No Wonder, No Miracles

Read Luke 2:21 - 30.

Simeon blesses Jesus and per the law, gives him up to the Lord. Knowing only as revealed through the Holy Spirit, that he is "a light for Gentiles," "Glory for all of Israel," He praises God for Jesus.

Wes explains that Jesus came just as God promised and he will come again and he asks, How can we be quiet?

We live in the existence of the greatest miracle - Christ Jesus placing His Holy Spirit in us to be with us in whatever we do. And that Jesus is preparing a place for our salvation. What a blessing!

Christ for for sickness. Christ for health,

Christ for poverty. Christ for wealth,

Christ for joy, Christ for sorrow,

Christ for today and Christ tomorrow,

Christ my life and Christ my light,

Christ for morning, noon and night,

Christ when all around gives way,

Christ my everlasting stay,

Christ my rest, and Christ my food,

Christ above my highest good,

Christ my well-beloved friend,

Christ my pleasure without end,

Christ my portion, Christ my God,

Christ my shepherd, I his sheep,

Christ Himself my soul to keep,

Christ my Leader, Christ my peace,

Christ hath wrought my soul's release,

Christ my righteousness divine,

Christ for me, for He is mine,

Christ my wisdom, Christ my meat,

Christ restores my wandering feet,

Christ my Advocate and Priest,

Christ who ne'er forgets the least,

Christ my Teacher, Christ my Guide,

Christ my rock, in Christ I hide,

Christ the ever-living bread,

Christ His precious blood hath shed,

Christ hath brought me nigh to God

Christ the everlasting word,

Christ my Master, Christ my head,

Christ who for my sins hath bled,

Christ my Glory, Christ my crown,

Christ the plant for great renown,

Christ my Comforter on high,

Christ my hope, draws ever nigh.
